Former Minnesota C Liam Robbins Transfers to Vanderbilt

0

Everybody said that the Vanderbilt Commodores needed to add a big man to the roster for the 2021-22 season.

Consider said big man added.

Vanderbilt scored a commitment from Minnesota transfer Liam Robbins on Monday. A native of Davenport, Iowa, Robbins started his career at Drake, where he averaged 14.1 ppg, 7.1 rpg, and 2.9 blocks per game as a sophomore, then transferred to Minnesota last season, where he averaged 11.7 ppg, 6.6 rpg, and 2.7 bpg in a single year for the Gophers.

The impact here is pretty obvious: Robbins is a 7-footer who’s pretty skilled and should slot into Vanderbilt’s starting lineup, which was devoid of productive big men in 2020-21, immediately. Also of note is that Robbins’ uncle is Ed Conroy, the former head coach at The Citadel and Tulane, who was the associate head coach at Minnesota last season and is rumored to be joining Jerry Stackhouse’s staff at Vanderbilt for next season.

So, at long last, some good news.
