Media reacts to No. 17 Missouri’s upset win at No. 6 Tennessee

The nightmare week for fans of the Tennessee Volunteers did not end on Saturday night. In a week where the football program saw its head coach fired amid possible NCAA rules violations, the No. 6 ranked basketball team was upset at home by No. 19 Missouri, 73-64.

The Vols did not hold a single lead in the entire game. Tennessee was missing true freshman guard Jaden Springer for tonight’s contest, who also did not play in the Vols’ Tuesday night blowout loss at Florida due to an ankle injury.

Missouri was led by Xavier Pinson who scored 27 points in the upset. Dru Smith also added 18 points for the Tigers.

As for Tennessee, the Vols were led by forward Yves Pons who scored 20 points. Josiah-Jordan James and Victor Bailey Jr. each had 12 points.
