McBride leads West Virginia to 22 point win over Kansas State on the road

After a nearly two week pause in play, the West Virginia Mountaineers (10-4, 3-3 Big 12) returned to action Saturday afternoon with a 69-47 win over the Kansas State Wildcats (5-11, 1-7 Big 12) in Manhattan, KS.

Despite the hiatus, West Virginia opened the game in dominate fashion. The Mountainers jumped out to a 21-4 lead midway through the first half, in large part to the strong defensive performance by the WVU defense forcing 18 first half turnovers.

Kansas State would chip away at West Virginia’s 31-17 halftime lead in the opening minutes of the second half, eventually narrowing it down to eight points, but would never get any closer than that.

West Virginia ended the game with 28 forced turnovers, handing the Wildcats their sixth straight loss.

Miles McBride led the Mountaineers with 18 points, 5 assists. Jalen Bridges added 12 points of his own, and Taz Sherman finished with 10 points. Derek Culver and Jordan McCabe each finished with 8 points.

West Virginia will return to Morgantown, where they’ll host the No. 12 ranked Texas Tech Red Raiders (11-4, 4-3 Big 12) on Monday night. That game tips off at 9:00PM ET and will be broadcast on ESPN.
