John Calipari says Terrence Clarke now expected to miss another week

As the Kentucky Wildcats look to get their season back on track, it’s still unclear when Terrence Clarke will make his return.

Earlier this week, head coach John Calipari said he expected Clarke to miss another 7-10 days as he recovers from an ankle injury. That was on Jan. 18th, which means Clarke would seemingly have a chance to play next week at Alabama on Jan. 26th and/or Jan. 30th at home vs. Texas.

Unfortunately, it sounds like Clarke will miss both of those critical games.

Following today’s win over LSU, Calipari said he does not expect Clarke to play this coming week.

It’s another frustrating case of Calipari changing his story after seemingly every game when it comes to players with injuries. A big part of why Kentucky has struggled this season has been the early absence of Keion Brooks Jr., followed by the recent absence of Clarke, who hasn’t played since Dec. 26th in the loss to Louisville.

It’s unfortunate Calipari has to change his story as much as he does when it comes to injuries. Why can’t he just give an honest timeline or say they’re out indefinitely?

Whatever the case may be, there’s no reason to expect Clarke to play in a UK uniform again anytime soon.
