Calipari says 1 lineup has analytically proven to be elite offensively

On his call-in show Monday night, John Calipari revealed that there is one offensive lineup that could be the problem solver to Kentucky Wildcats’ offensive woes.

Kentucky disappointed again in their showdown with Auburn last Saturday, once again putting on an abysmal offensive display. Calipari had been rolling with Dontaie Allen and Jacob Toppin in the first half of the game, the two proving to be sparks and provided over half of the Wildcats’ first half points.

For one reason or the other, the two saw a drop in minutes in the second half, most noticeably Allen.

Calipari said Monday that one of his lineups has produced with the best of college basketball this season, and that “maybe” those guys could be seeing more minutes:

If that lineup has statistically proven to be a great offense, there should be no maybe about playing them more. Whoever gives you the best chance to win should be on the floor for the Wildcats right now, and Calipari has not been doing that as of late.

Now, the question is which lineup is that? Who’s the point guard running it? What does the frontcourt look like? Is Terrence Clarke part of it, despite his five-game absence that will likely be extended this week?
