Fairfax (Va.) Robinson Secondary School five-star offensive tackle Tristan Leigh will announce his college decision on Jan. 2 as part of the All-American Bowl: Declaration Day presented by Geico.
NBC will have the national broadcast. Finalists for Leigh include LSU, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Clemson and Florida.
The 6-foot-6, 285-pound Leigh is tabbed by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 1 prospect in Virginia, the country’s No. 4 offensive tackle and No. 11 prospect overall. The 247Sports Crystal Ball has forecasts in favor of LSU, Oklahoma and Clemson.
“I feel I have to figure some things out,” Leigh said going into his decision.
Leigh added he’s not sure if he’ll sign in December and keep it quiet till the show or wait to put pen to paper in February.
“It’s really close still,” Leigh said.
“I’ve been talking to Clemson a lot more, I’m talking to Florida more. Other than that I’ve been steady talking to the three that were the top too.”
Leigh visited Oklahoma once during the pandemic and LSU twice. He had been to Baton Rouge a couple other times prior to that. Clemson got him to campus in January. He also saw Florida during the pandemic and has been to Ohio State’s campus twice prior to the pandemic including a game last fall.
Leigh could visit somewhere the weekend of Dec. 5 but nothing is locked in at this point. He is the top-ranked uncommitted offensive tackle in the country.
