Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! I know it doesn’t feel like we have a lot to be thankful for as Detroit Lions fans, but this day will always be one of my favorite on the calendar. I wouldn’t trade some of the memories made with friends and family on this day for anything else. Hell, at least this is a day we typically have a good support system around us for when the Lions eventually lose.
Speaking of which, our staff made their picks for this year’s Thanksgiving Day classic, and they aren’t exactly expecting good things to come of the early game. Coming off one of their worst losses in recent history, the Lions are three-point home underdogs to the 3-7 Houston Texans, and most of us are picking the road team in this one.
Just three of 13 of our staff members are taking the Lions in a Thanksgiving Day upset. Even worse, eight staffers have the Texans winning by multiples scores.
Take a look:
Kellie Rowe (6-4): Lions win
Ryan Mathews (5-5): 27-17 Texans
Kyle Yost (5-5): 24-14 Texans
Chris Perfett (5-5): 15-15 Tie
Jeremy Reisman (5-5): 30-28 Lions (Read Jeremy’s preview here)
Justin Simon (5-5): 28-17 Texans (Read Justin’s preview here)
Alex Reno (5-5): 30-13 Texans
Mansur Shaheen (5-5): 20-17 Lions
Mike Payton (4-6): 42-10 Texans
Jerry Mallory (4-6): 27-20 Texans
John Whiticar (3-7): 35-13 Texans
Hamza Baccouche (3-6): 28-13 Texans
Andrew Kato (2-8): 38-10 Texans
And here are our picks for all
three two of the Thanksgiving Day games:
Now let’s see who y’all are picking for today’s games.
