We’ve made it to rivalry week! That means a few things in college football: Thanksgiving weekend and one of the best college football slates of the year.
Obviously, things look a bit different this year. Michigan and Ohio State won’t play. This isn’t the final week of the regular season. And there will be games taken off the schedule due to COVID-19. But you know what? We can still watch the Iron Bowl and the Egg Bowl, and there are other great games to devour alongside leftover turkey.
Given how wild this year has been, it seems like a good time to pause and examine our sport with a bit of perspective. Much has gone wrong this year, but college football is a window into many of the best parts of life: Family, friends, food and traditions.
In that way, the sport shares many connections with Thanksgiving. With that in mind – plus, who doesn’t like a good Holiday-themed list? – these are the things about college football we’re thankful for this year at 247Sports.
