Injury report: D’Andre Swift returns to practice, Golladay sits out

The Detroit Lions only went through a walkthrough on Thursday, attempting to play catch up in a shortened week in preparation for Thursday’s game against the Houston Texans.

There were only a few changes to Tuesday’s estimated injury report, but three of them were significant.

Let’s start with the good news. Lions running back D’Andre Swift “returned” to practice in a limited fashion on Tuesday, opening up the possibility of him playing this week against the Texans. Swift has been out since last Thursday with a concussion, and this is the first sign that he may be ready to return. He still needs to pass through all of concussion protocol, but non-contact football activity is the fourth step.

Additionally, Danny Amendola returned to practice in a limited fashion. The Lions’ slot receiver has been out since suffering a hip injury late in Week 10’s game against the Washington Football Team. This is the first time he’s practiced since, so there’s a chance he plays on a short week.

The bad news is that wide receiver Kenny Golladay has been downgraded to a non-participant at practice. This is following the same pattern as last week, when he returned to practice on Wednesday, then sat the rest of the week. He has now missed three games with his hip injury, and it’s looking like he may miss a fourth.

Here’s the full injury report from Tuesday:
