The 2-3 Cowboys come into this game hurting, after star quarterback Dak Prescott suffered a gruesome, season ending ankle injury last week against the New York Giants. The Cowboys feature the NFL’s top rated offense, but with Prescott sidelined, who knows how effective the offense will be with Andy Dalton under center? The Cowboys defense is one of the worst in football, but they get linebacker Leighton Vander Esch back off the injured list tonight, and that may give the defense a lift.
The 3-2 Cardinals come into the game fresh off an easy 30 – 10 pummeling of the hapless New York Jets. The Cardinals are led by second year quarterback Kyler Murray, who has struggled with turnovers this year. The Cardinals have built their 3-2 record against one of the easiest schedules in the NFL to date; it will be interesting to see how they match up when the opponents get tougher.
The 3-2 Cardinals need this game to stay out of last place in the NFC West, while the 2-3 Cowboys ironically will remain in first place in the NFC East regardless of the outcome of this game.
It’s the Cowboys and the Cardinals in the nightcap of a Monday Night Football doubleheader.
Enjoy the game everybody.
