Justin Herbert expected to start against Panthers

After a sensational NFL debut against the Chiefs, it’s looking more and more likely that Justin Herbert will retain the starting quarterback job for at least one more week, especially with Tyrod Taylor currently dealing with a punctured lung stemming from the pain-killer injection administered to him this past Sunday.

In his debut, Herbert threw for 311 yards on 22-of-33 passing with one touchdown and an interception while adding 18 yards on the ground and another score.

With a full week of practice as the team’s starter, Herbert should be even more prepared in his second stint behind center, especially when he’s about to go up against the youngest defense the NFL has seen in over 10 years. Through their first two games, the Panthers have surrendered 31+ points in each contest while failing to sack the quarterback even once.

That’s a heck of a setup for your rookie quarterback coming off a loss.
