Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo thriving as Heat take 2-0 lead in Eastern Conference Finals

There are two players that have scored over 10 points for the Miami Heat in each of their 11 postseason games. No, it’s not both the Wildcats. Yet, at the same time, one of those players isn’t Jimmy Butler.

It’s Tyler Herro and Goran Dragic.

The latter has helped lead the Heat to a 2-0 start in the Eastern Conference Finals, putting up 25 or more points in each of those first two games. However, the former has been doing his fair share as well, averaging a double-double. One assist shy of a triple-double in Game 1, Herro totaled 12 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists.

Despite not scoring 29 like Dragic, he was arguably their most impactful player, leading the team in rebounds and tied with Bam Adebayo in assists. That said, the All-Star center is another player that’s made himself a household name in Orlando. Adebayo posted 18 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists in Game 1.

No one will ever remember those 18 points after Adebayo made the game-winning block on Jayson Tatum. The Heat were up two after Tatum missed a game-winning three to close out regulation.

It looked like Tatum had the ball halfway down the rim as Adebayo showed his strength and defensive prowess, turning the dunk attempt away. “The best defensive player I’ve ever seen in the playoffs,” Magic Johnson tweeted.

He didn’t stop there as the Most Improved Player finalist dropped 21 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists in Game 2. Herro dropped 11 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists in the series’ second game.

That said, Adebayo’s ability to switch on Kemba Walker or Jayson Tatum if need be has been a difference-maker throughout the first two games. Adebayo’s presence has been crucial for the Heat’s 10-1 record.

However, it’s been a collective effort as Duncan Robinson, Butler, Dragic, Herro and several others all need credit for the underrated Heat shocking the NBA world with their dominance postseason perform.

The Heat won Game 2 106-101 after rallying from down 17 points.
