Twitter reactions to Bengals’ loss to Browns in primetime

The Bengals covered!

Okay, so it wasn’t the storybook ending we thought for Week 2. This was more of a wake-up call for what this team will probably look like in 2020. This defense still has some serious question marks, but Joe Burrow makes this team interesting every week.

At some point, Burrow and these receivers will start clicking. That is when Cincinnati becomes dangerous.

Until then, we should expect games like this where they fall just short, but at least it was close.

Burrow gets his first

The first of many passing touchdowns by the first overall pick. It was an impressive play call and an even better pass. The play caught the attention of several familiar names for fans as well.

2019 called, they want their defense back

The Bengals defense may not have been as improved as many thought in Week 1. It didn’t look that much different from the defense we all suffered through in 2019. Cleveland was constantly driving down the field with little resistance, and it is hard to put the blame on just one area.

William Jackson gives the Bengals a chance

The Bengals looked the they were about to be finished with Mayfield and the Browns driving down the field to make it a three score game. However, Jackson had different plans as he picked off Cleveland’s quarterback. That opened up the game.

Burrow responds

It wasn’t quite a game changing drive, but it did put the pressure back on Cleveland to score. Burrow made it a five point game after the touchdown drive where the rookie looked like he was anything but that.

Just not enough

The Bengals offense just couldn’t dig itself out of the hole that the defense dug the team into. An 0-2 start always stings, but this young team still has plenty of room to grow. Still, the disappointment after this offseason of raised expectations with Burrow was obvious.
