Mississippi State Lands Wide Receiver Jacobi Moore

The Mississippi State Bulldogs continued the recruiting momentum this weekend. Mike Leach and his staff secured the commitment of Harrison Central High School’s Jacobi Moore. Moore’s commitment keeps the hot streak the Bulldogs staff has developed in Mississippi going. Moore chose the Bulldogs over Auburn, Indiana, and Ole Miss. We will take a look at what Moore brings to the table for the Bulldogs.

Moore lined up all over the field for Harrison Central, but was recruited as a wide receiver. Moore adds to a recruiting class that includes Theodore Knox, Sawyer Robertson, and Malik Nabers. Nabers, Knox, and Moore will give Sawyer Robertson some potentially dangerous targets over the next few years. Moore will give the Bulldogs a wide receiver that has good speed and a dangerous talent in the open field.

In 2019, Moore amassed 400 receiving yards and five touchdown receptions for Harrison Central. Moore was solid in running the ball as well, accounting for three touchdowns on the ground. Moore at 6’3 is going to give the Bulldogs a consistent red zone target. Moore has displayed a consistent ability to stretch the field and that will be valuable in Mike Leach’s offense in the years to come.

The 2021 class is shaping out to be a talented one for the Bulldogs. Leach and his staff are adding playmakers on the offensive side of the ball as well as continuing to focus on the defensive side of the ball. The Bulldogs have been aggressive in recruiting Mississippi, while continuing to focus on hotbeds such as Texas and Florida. Mississippi State recruiting is never dull and this becoming a fun recruiting season.
