We now know what the Kentucky Wildcats’ full 2020 slate of opponents looks like.
One week after the SEC announced it was going with a 10-game schedule for its 14 league members, all of which being conference games, Kentucky’s new two SEC foes will be on the road at Alabama and at home vs. Ole Miss.
Alabama finished 2019 with an 11-2 record, including a win over Michigan in the Citrus Bowl. They are ranked No. 3 in the Coaches Top 25 Poll.
Ole Miss finished 4-8 and fired head coach Matt Luke. He was replaced with Lane Kiffin, one of the biggest coaching hires of the 2020 offseason.
This certainly makes Kentucky’s 2020 schedule than it was before the coronavirus forced the SEC to alter its schedule. The Wildcats are very rarely going to have an easy SEC schedule, and this year was already no different with home road games against top-25 foes Auburn, Florida, and possibly Tennessee. They also have a home matchup with Georgia, who’s projected as a top-five team in several preseason rankings.
Now, instead of nonconference matchups with Eastern Michigan, Kent State, Eastern Illinois and Louisville, Kentucky will have two additional SEC matchups with Alabama and Ole Miss.
We will have more on this story shortly…
