Mizzou QB commit Tyler Macon upgraded to four-star rating on 247Sports

The 247Sports team has released a recruiting rankings update for 2021 quarterbacks following the Elite 11 event.

Seven quarterbacks were mentioned in this article, and yes, you guessed it — Missouri quarterback commit Tyler Macon was of course one of them.

Macon has officially received a ratings upgrade from 247Sports, jumping from a three-star to a four-star. He improved his overall rating from an 87 to a 90, and is now rated as the 25th best quarterback in the 2021 class on the Top 247.

Here’s what 247Sports had to say about Macon’s Elite 11 performance:

“Macon looked more polished than anticipated, had a smooth, consistent delivery and threw with some nice timing and anticipation, hitting receivers in stride. This was an issue for a lot of the quarterbacks and you often saw receivers catching the ball behind them or waiting on it, but Macon was very proficient in this area.”

On CBS Sports HQ, 247 Sports’ Steve Wiltfong joined Chris Hassel to discuss Macon’s ratings jump. Wiltfong mentions that Trent Dilfer compared Macon to Steve McNair.

And from the man himself:

Congrats on getting that well deserved four-star, Tyler! Now, onto the (wear a mask) links!
