Even when you do nothing wrong, you’re wrong! How crazy

We’ve heard from media, fans and, on occasion, owners about what traits make for a successful NFL head coach. But what do players think? Glad you asked. https://t.co/LajTF3VFzK

Broncos have selected former HC, Mike Shanahan, for their Ring of Fame, per source. Ceremony will be held in 2021 due COVID-19.
Shanahan is one of seven HCs in NFL history with 175 wins and two Super Bowl titles. Others are Shula, Belichick, Landry, Noll, Parcells, Coughlin.

A smart restructure, especially the no-tag provision. This money likely would have been ear-marked for FA Jadeveon Clowney… but that signing appears unlikely now. https://t.co/5sjn7sPCAO

Longest active streaks of 50+ QBR
(0-to-100 scale):Patrick Mahomes (36)
Matthew Stafford (9)
Derek Carr (4)
Russell Wilson (3)
Deshaun Watson (3)Including playoffs, Mahomes has started 36 games. In other words, he’s never had a bad game.

Of course, when Tom Brady gave the #Patriots *discounts*, he was hailed as a divine philosopher prince who cares more about his team than money, so whatever.

Patrick Mahomes contract, confirmed by source, is very team friendly early in the deal. Not realistic for Dak Prescott and Cowboys because no years left on rookie deal. Cowboys should have done this before last season. His deal will carry full freight from the jump. pic.twitter.com/5iNsSPQN5D
— Clarence Hill Jr (@clarencehilljr) July 7, 2020
One last point: Both Khalil Mack and Aaron Donald earn more over the first three years of their contracts than Mahomes will earn over the first three years of his. And he’ll still be tied to the team for nine more seasons after that.

I’m told “no serious talks yet” b/w the Texans & Deshaun Watson on a contract extension. My understanding is Watson is not in a hurry. Despite CoVID factors on league economics, there’s optimism in the long-term financial stability of t/ NFL & where Watson fits into that picture.

NFL GMs and head coaches were told on calls today the start date for training camps should remain as scheduled later this month, but no decisions on how camps will be structured, per sources.
Translation: A fight with the NFLPA over preseason games is just getting started.

NFLPA president on the union’s deliberations with the league: “We don’t want to merely return to work and have the season shut down before we even get started.”… https://t.co/IJqJwxfLQ8

What DeSean Jackson posted is indefensible. I still can’t really decipher what the heck he was trying to say. He should be smart enough to stay away from Hitler but I mean everyone jumps to evil intent. Maybe it is, but more likely it’s ignorance on the subject matter. #Eagles
— John McMullen (@JFMcMullen) July 7, 2020
Who had “DeSean Jackson posting Hitler quotes to his IG story” on their 2020 Bingo card?
— Brett Kollmann (@BrettKollmann) July 7, 2020
This was my original thought. But the more I speak on it, the more i get educated that there’s a decent sized group that believe nothing about parading a mascot before football games honors them. https://t.co/EmgrLcL9Xw
— Paul Conner (@P_ConnerJr) July 7, 2020
Red Wolves has been lifting its head above the rest but Arkansas State, being a two-word mascot, and the fact its forcing the word Red when the team is Burgundy has kept me from buying all-the-way in.

Sometimes, the jokes really do write themselves.
— BGObsession (@BGObsession) July 7, 2020
So it’s a Red Wolf – so how do you name a team?
The Washington Red Wolves
OR
The Washington RedWolves
OR
The Washington Redwolves
I guess you go like the Timberwolves…
— Mark Tyler(Hogs Haven) (@Tiller56) July 7, 2020
I totally disagree with this. I believe all this stuff you’ve been seeing for the last two months was indeed a way to get the fans perspective without coming out and saying such
— Mark Tyler(Hogs Haven) (@Tiller56) July 7, 2020
I’d potentially pump the breaks on ‘Red Wolves’ as the new name for Washington.
The Hunt family who owns the Kansas City Chiefs may veto it, as the official mascot of the Chiefs is a Wolf.
— Chad Ryan (@ChadwikoRCC) July 7, 2020
If Kansas City believes they’re going to need to change their team name in the future as well, then “Wolves” would be right at the top of the list for their new identity.

— Chad Ryan (@ChadwikoRCC) July 7, 2020
That’s a very fair point, but my own suspicion is that Snyder won’t want to put the Hunt family in that position to begin with. https://t.co/zGfxfEwbKu
