2020 NFL Scouting Combine Day 1 Open Thread

Today is Day 1 of the on field portion of the Scouting Combine.

In a change from years past, Day 1 features the Quarterbacks, Wide Receivers, and Tight Ends. Also changing from tradition is the schedule. Instead of kicking off during the day, the NFL has decided to change to primetime.

Another new wrinkle is that the NFL has mandated that prospects will be weighed again on the day of their on field drills. This move effectively eliminates the idea of prospects drastically cutting weight like in the sport of MMA or boxing in order to gain an advantage.

The workouts will be aired on NFL Network from 7 PM to 11 PM ET (that’s 4 PM PT to 8 PM PT for those of you in that region) but NFL Network will begin coverage at 1 PM PST.

*Oregon Ducks scheduled to work out this evening*

QB Justin Herbert

WR Juwan Johnson

Other Pac-12 players of note:

WR Michael Pittman, Jr

WR Brandon Aiyuk

WR Laviska Shenault, Jr

TE Hunter Bryant

WR Aaron Fuller

QB Jacob Eason

QB Steven Montez

QB Anthony Gordon

WR Isaiah Hodgins

For more information and a preview of today’s action, you can find my preview for QBs, WRs, and TEs here.

So Ducks fans, what number do you have for Herbert and JJ in the 40? I have Herbert down dor 4.7 and JJ for 4.6. Closest guess gets a prize! Have at it, ATQ! Will we see a new speed king tonight? The current 40 record is 4.22 held by John Ross III. Alabama’s Henry Ruggs III is the odds on favorite to challenge the record.
