The Frogs’ road woes continued on Tuesday night.
TCU: The Horned Frogs were outscored in the paint (28-18) for the eighth time in the past 12 games and fell to 0-8 on the road in Big 12 play. TCU shot just 33% (9 of 27) in the first half, but turned the tables on Iowa State in the second half, limiting the Cyclones to 33% shooting during its comeback effort.
Jaire Grayer has been solid in the starting lineup for TCU this season, and he played against his dad’s alma mater on Tuesday night.
When Jaire Grayer stepped onto the floor for Texas Christian’s shootaround Tuesday morning, he started scanning the rafters at Hilton Coliseum. It didn’t take him long to find what he was looking for: A cardinal and gold banner with the number 44 and the last name Grayer, honoring his father Jeff whose number was retired by the Cyclones.
We’ve always known that Reagor is lightning fast, and we’ve also always known he’s never lacked for confidence. Now he’s planning on putting both on display at the NFL combine.
Reagor said he also plans to run the fastest time in the 40-yard dash at the combine with a high 4.2- or a low 4.3-second clocking.
Nobody saw this coming from Wood, but it’s safe to say that early on, everyone is happy with his decision to give baseball one more shot.
Count on Wood serving as the team’s right fielder and cleanup hitter as he’s done the first seven games. He’s batting .364 with a team-leading three home runs and six RBIs through seven games. His 1.318 OPS (on-base plus slugging percentage) is the best on the team too.
