Kellen Diesch is a big man, and now he’s a big Sun Devil. The former Texas A&M 6-foot-6, 298-pound offensive tackle picked Arizona State as his new home after being in the transfer portal. SunDevilSource was the first to report that Diesch is officially on the Sun Devil roster.

Diesch coming out of high school was rated as a four-star tackle by 247Sports. The recruiting service also had him as its 105th best player of the 2016 class. Outside of Texas A&M, he fielded offers and high interest from Tennessee, Arkansas, Alabama. Other others included Arizona State, Florida, Michigan, Oregon, Texas and Wisconsin.

Probably the biggest thing in getting Diesch to Tempe was offensive line coach Dave Christensen. Christensen led Diesch’s recruitment to Texas A&M before he left the school.

Herm Edwards wanted to get a more experienced on the offensive line, now that appears to be the case with Diesch, who played in 23 games during his four-year Aggie career after redshirting his first season on campus. However, the Texas A&M stats don’t show Diesch made a start while there. Either way, Diesch adds an older body to a young offensive line.
