As the MLB offseason gains momentum in San Diego during MLB’s winter meetings, top free agents Anthony Rendon and Gerrit Cole are nearing the biggest decisions of the offseason.

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Scott Boras, the agent for Rendon and Cole, said that both players are deep into the process of choosing who they will sign with after teams submitted their offers.

The New York Yankees were reportedly ready to submit their offer to Cole earlier this week and the Los Angeles Angels met with him before the meetings. Of course, there is also a mystery team involved, too.

Meanwhile, the Angels, Texas Rangers, Chicago White Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers are reportedly interested in Rendon.

The process to land MLB’s top free agents is moving rapidly with Boras saying that the number of people involved further indicates deals could be reached soon.

“We’re getting far along in negotiations. There’s offers made by clubs. We’re actively in the middle of it,” Boras said, via ESPN. “They’re hard to predict, how these things go, but normally when you have this many people involved and you’re that far along, it’s probable something can be done in a very short term.”

Cole could reportedly land a record eight-year deal worth at least $280 million, while Rendon is also expected to net at least $200 million on his upcoming contract.
