Jose Mourinho will NOT recruit trusted allies Rui Faria, Silvino Louro and Co to Tottenham and starts building new backroom team with Joao Sacramento appointed as his assistant
But following the surprise departure of Faria at the end of the 2017-18 season, Mourinho appeared to struggle without his assistant before he was sacked at Old Trafford a few months later.
However, Mourinho will not turn to his old trusted advisers at White Hart Lane and instead will appoint a whole new backroom team which will be selected from abroad.
He has already appointed Joao Sacramento to be his assistant boss, who arrives from French side Lille where he held the same position under manager Christophe Galtier.
The Portuguese has few notable staff to assist him at the club currently, with Spurs electing to sack Mauricio Pochettino and all of his key staff members.
The likes of Faria and Louro have been almost ever present with Mourinho throughout his managerial career.
The trio were at Chelsea when during Mourinho’s first appointment in 2004 and stayed with the manager in his following spells at Inter Milan, Real Madrid, a return to Chelsea and then at Old Trafford.
But a reunion with Faria was quickly ruled out due to his managerial commitments at Qatari club Al-Duhail.
