Well I guess in the end it was a little much to ask for the Astros to beat the second best team in the AL in three straight games at home. Still, Houston will have two chances to close it out at home, an ideal situation, with one of those games anchored by Gerrit Cole as the starter, which is even more ideal. Still, with JV going on the mound and some more of the hitting-with-RISP blues going on in this one, it certainly felt like an opportunity that slipped away.
Either way, the Astros are in the drivers’ seat for this one and in a good position to secure a spot in the World Series come Sunday.
PS: Tomorrow is my daughter’s birthday party so I won’t be around much today and probably won’t be updating the potluck. Feel free to post links though and treat this as an open thread to discuss or vent in a civilized manner.
