Houston Rockets guard Gerald Green is believed to have suffered a broken left foot and could be sidelined a few months, league sources tell @TheAthleticNBA @Stadium. Green will have more opinions on his foot this week and be out indefinitely.

Green has been a key piece off of the bench for the Rockets for the last two seasons, and was slated for a similar gun-slinging role this year, so this is a huge blow for Houston before the season even starts.
Thankfully, they have a little added depth this season, and Green’s injury really open up an opportunity for Ben McLemore as the new microwave man off the bench. McLemore has had a good training camp and has averaged 9.8 points per game in 20 minutes of action so far in the preseason.
This is the second player that’s gone down this offseason, as Anthony Bennett suffered a knee injury that led to his eventual release. Green’s injury is even worse news, but at least on paper, the Rockets seem equipped to handle it. Whereas had this happened last year… maybe not so much.
Get well soon, Gerald. We’ll be waiting for you around midseason!
