The Associated Press released their first top 25 poll for the 2019 season at noon today. The Ducks ranked 13th in the Coaches Poll from a couple of weeks ago.

The AP gave Oregon the 11th spot in the rankings, which was pretty expected given that the program was in the top 15 in most polls elsewhere.

The Ducks’ first opponent, Auburn was ranked 16th in both the AP and Coaches Poll. A top 20 showdown on 8/31 with College GameDay in tow.

The top five are as follows: 1. Clemson 2. Alabama 3. Georgia 4. Oklahoma 5. Ohio State.

Three of the four playoff seeds from last season make up the top five to start. Defending national champion Clemson has its first ever top ranking in program history again.

Oregon leads the way for the Pac-12 while Washington follows close behind 13th while Utah is 14th. There are a total of five Pac-12 teams in the AP (Washington State 23 and Stanford 25).

The Big Ten led the Power Five conferences with seven teams apiece followed by the SEC with six teams. The Pac-12 came in third with its five teams. Clemson and Syracuse are the lone ACC teams to make the poll.

Notre Dame cracks the top ten by placing ninth.
