Earlier this year, Amy Kvilhaug joined the Boston College softball team as head coach, and now she has announced two new members of her staff, Olivia Watkins and Matt Alberghini. Watkins will lead the infield, slapping, and base-running, while Alberghini will head up the outfield, catchers, and hitting.
Olivia Watkins joins the Eagles from Dartmouth College where she was an assistant coach for the past two seasons. While there, she also oversaw the infield, as well as base-running, defensive positioning, hitting, equipment, and travel. In her first season at Dartmouth, she helped the team win a share of the Ivy League title in 2018. As a player at Western Kentucky, she finished her career with multiple program records, including setting single-season records for runs (51), hits (87), batting average (.442), and stolen bases (55 out of 58 attempts).
Matt Alberghini moves to Chestnut Hill from the University of Washington in Seattle where he was the graduate manager and helped the team reach the 2019 College World Series and win the PAC-12 Championship for the first time in a decade. Alberghini graduated from Coastal Carolina in 2017, where he was also the head student manager for their softball team.
Watkins and Alberghini will make for strong new additions to this rebuild, and we wish them all the best of luck this upcoming year!
