NYY vs. CLE: CC Sabathia vs. Mike Clevinger

The Yankees won a close one yesterday afternoon by a score of 6-5. In today’s Sunday matinee, they’ll seek to win this four-game series against the Indians. CC Sabathia was activated from the injured list and he will make his first appearance since July 27. Sabathia last faced Cleveland in early June. He hurled five innings, giving up four runs in an 8-4 loss.

Speaking of the IL, New York placed infielder Thairo Estrada on the 10-day IL with a right hamstring strain.

The Yankees will get their big bats back for today. Aaron Judge and Gary Sanchez are both in the lineup after getting yesterday off. New York has been red-hot in the Bronx as of late. They are 11-1 in their last 12 home games.

Mike Clevinger is on the mound for the Tribe, looking to spilt the series. He is currently 7-2 with a 3.34 ERA. The righty has pitched in the Bronx just once in his career, back in 2018. He hurled 7.1 innings, surrendering two runs and striking out 10 in that start.
