Gamethread: Astros at White Sox (Game 1)

It may seem like the Chicago White Sox are about to be steamrolled by a team that just ate the Baltimore Orioles for dinner 23-2 a few nights ago; Houston’s bats that have been more dangerous than its vaunted rotation as of late.

Zack Greinke allowed five runs in his six-inning debut for the Astros. He got the W as the Astros handily bested the Rockies 11-6, but it was hardly a pitchers’ duel. If Dylan Cease can rein it in and Welington Castillo calls a good game, we’ll still probably lose because we don’t quite grasp the concept of run support we may have a fighting chance.

Your starting lineup for the first game:

Nobody knows exactly why Castillo is batting cleanup, or why the DH is batting eighth, but Cease seems to be our official starter for the first game of doubleheaders, and so far he’s 2-0 in doubleheader openers, so that’s promising news.

Houston’s lineup:

The game starts at 3:40 p.m., TV broadcast on NBCSN+ and AM radio WGN 720. The second game will start 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first.
