Wooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!! The (pre) season kicks off tonight for the Vikings against the Saints and I can feel the excitement. I’m going to DVR the game since I’ll be working but I’ll follow along in the game thread if I’m able depending on work. I saw Lucas did a “three players to watch article” good stuff Lucas. I’ll be watching the second wave of offensive and defensive lineman to glean what I can from who gets playing time and rotations. The usual good game and no injuries all around from me. Meanwhile, let’s carry on with our news and links open thread full of beer recommendations, nap strategies, crock pot and smoker recipes. Drop by for some fan wisdom, snark and go ahead leave work early, it’s Friday and football is on tonight.

It’s that time for one of my favorite series every year Deadspin’s “Why Your Team Sucks” by Drew Magary. The most recent team to get roasted is the Atlanta Falcons, but let’s not forget about the Green Bay Packers. I’ll continue to update the teams as they are posted.
We come to today’s media selection: AC/DC – For Those About To Rock (We Salute You)
Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t forget to tip your waiter, try the purple koolaid and Welcome Aboard!
