Per Kevin Wade of DuckTerritory.com, wide receiver Brendan Schooler is expected to miss six to eight weeks due to a broken foot.

Reports indicate that he suffered the injury in Monday’s practice and had surgery done today as a result.

While not a big part of the offense statistically during his career thus far, he was nonetheless a key target for QB Justin Herbert. Schooler was projected to start in certain receiver packages this season.

Optimistically, he misses six weeks and comes back in time for the game against rival Washington. The tail end of the timetable given by Coach Cristobal places his return against the Trojans.

The receivers behind him will have to step up to help complement projected starters Juwan Johnson, Jaylon Redd, and Johnny Johnson III. This means that the freshmen Mycah Pittman and Josh Delgado will have to increase their productivity in Schooler’s stead along with Bryan Addison.

Come back soon, Brendan!
