The Los Angeles Lakers appear to have their new head coach — for real this time.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, former Indiana Pacers and Orlando Magic coach Frank Vogel has agreed to take over the Los Angeles Lakers.
Frank Vogel has agreed to a deal to become the next coach of the Los Angeles Lakers, league sources tell ESPN.

Vogel was not the Lakers’ first choice, as they were pursuing Tyronn Lue before the deal fell apart. Vogel has a 304-291 career record as head coach and made consecutive appearances in the Eastern Conference Finals with the Pacers in 2013 and 2014.
It remains unclear what Vogel’s staff would look like, but given the Lakers’ insistence that Jason Kidd be included, it seems like a safe bet that the former point guard will be on the team’s staff as an assistant.
